4,5 - would have given 5, but I found it hard to get myself interested in the beginning of the book. When I reached the middle it got interesting.

If you're here after watching the movie, then you ought to know the book is vastly different.
Also I can recommend reading it while listening to the movie soundtrack

I got major House of Night vibes from this, so if you enjoyed the first book of House of Night, you might enjoy this as well.
Also, I need a Dimitri in my life, sigh
